JEE Main Rank

JEE Main Rank Predictor

Predict your JEE Main All India Rank from percentile or NTA Score using NTA-published normalization data. Shows category-wise ranks (General / OBC-NCL / SC / ST / EWS / PwD) + indicative college expectation tiers.

NTA Score from your session result (0โ€“100). Best of two sessions counts.

All India Rank (approx)

All India Rank approximately 7,100, General category rank 3,550, percentile 99.50. Qualifies for JEE Advanced (General cutoff 93.24 percentile). IIIT Allahabad / Jabalpur / Gwalior (CSE).

You've qualified for JEE Advanced โ€” IIIT Allahabad / Jabalpur / Gwalior (CSE)

Your percentile (99.50) clears the General JEE Advanced cutoff of 93.24. You're eligible to sit JEE Advanced for IIT admission, and your AIR also opens up NITs / IIITs / GFTIs via JoSAA counselling.

Indicative college expectations

Rough AIR brackets โ€” actual admission depends on JoSAA round, home-state quota, and seat matrix.

How to read this

The NTA percentile is a session-relative normalized score (0โ€“100), not a percentage of marks. JEE Main runs two sessions (Jan + April) and the higher of your two percentiles is used for AIR computation. Rank thresholds shift slightly each year โ€” 2026 cutoffs may move ยฑ1-2 percentile points from the 2024 reference. Use this as a budgeting tool for JoSAA preferences; your real AIR will be the NTA-published one after Session 2.

How It Works

JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination โ€” Main, Paper 1: B.E./B.Tech) is the national engineering-entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year for admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, 600+ private engineering colleges, and as the qualifying gate for JEE Advanced (IIT entrance). Roughly 14โ€“15 lakh candidates register each year, and the result combines two sessions (January + April) under a "Best of Two" rule.

Exam structure

Paper 1 is out of 300 marks โ€” 75 multiple-choice questions, each worth +4 for a correct answer and โˆ’1 for a wrong MCQ (numerical-type questions have no negative). Marks are split equally across Physics (100), Chemistry (100), and Mathematics (100). Duration is 3 hours.

How NTA percentile works

NTA does not publish raw-marks rank lists. Instead, each session's raw scores are normalized to a percentile (NTA Score) from 0 to 100 โ€” your percentile = the proportion of candidates in your session who scored at or below you. This neutralizes paper-difficulty variation between the two sessions. A 99.5 percentile means you scored higher than 99.5% of all candidates in your session.

Best of Two and AIR computation

After Session 2 ends, NTA takes the higher of each candidate's two session percentiles, builds the final merit list, and assigns the All India Rank (AIR). Subject-wise percentiles (Maths, then Physics, then Chemistry) and age (older candidate ranks higher) are used for tie-breaking.

JEE Advanced eligibility

The top 2,50,000 candidates from JEE Main qualify for JEE Advanced (IIT entrance). Category cutoffs for JEE Main 2024: General 93.24, EWS 81.32, OBC-NCL 79.67, SC 60.09, ST 46.69, PwD 0.0018 (all percentiles). Cutoffs typically shift by ยฑ1-2 percentile points year-to-year.

How this predictor works

Enter your percentile (or estimated marks, if you have only the answer key) and your category. The predictor uses NTA's 2024 published percentile-to-AIR distribution as anchor points and interpolates linearly. Output: approximate AIR, category rank, qualifying status for JEE Advanced, and an indicative engineering-college expectation tier.

Frequently Asked Questions

A JEE Main rank predictor is an approximation, not a guarantee. It uses NTA's published 2024 percentile-to-AIR distribution as anchor points and interpolates linearly between them. Your actual rank depends on the difficulty of each 2026 session, the exact total candidates (NTA registered ~14L in 2024, expected ~15L in 2026), session-relative normalization (the NTA Score is a percentile within your specific session, not raw marks), tie-breaking rules (Maths > Physics > Chemistry > older candidate), and the category-wise distribution of the candidate pool. The predicted AIR typically lands within ยฑ5% of the final NTA-published rank for the top 50,000 and within ยฑ10% for ranks beyond. Treat the predicted AIR as a planning estimate for JoSAA preferences, not a final number.
